Relay tester connected to a car battery in the engine bay
Tests 4- and 5-pin relays Clear LED indication No prior knowledge needed Suits most passenger cars

The problem

A relay tester that answers you right there in the engine bay

Odd noises from the AC, an ignition that will not respond, a window that has stopped moving – a faulty relay is often the cause, and a relay tester gives you the answer in seconds. Connect the crocodile clips to the car battery, insert the suspect relay and press the TEST button. Green LED lights up: the relay is fine. Red LED lights up: replace the relay.

Relay tester held in the hand – compact and portable

How it works

Three steps – from suspicion to answer

1
Connect to the battery
Clip the red clamp to the positive terminal and the black one to the negative. The red LED lights up and the tester is ready.
2
Select pin count and insert the relay
Set the switch to 4PIN or 5PIN depending on the relay type. Insert the relay into the socket.
3
Press TEST and read the result
Green LED = the relay is fine. Red LED = the relay is faulty and needs replacing.

Choose your model

Standard or Upgraded?

  • Standard – full functionality for 4- and 5-pin relays with LED indication. Suits most car enthusiasts and home workshops.
  • Upgraded – includes a transparent cover that lets you watch the relay's internal movement during testing. Good for anyone who wants to understand more about how a relay works.

Common questions

What you might be wondering

Which relays can I test with this unit?

The unit tests most universal relays with 4 or 5 pins – the ones used for the AC, starter motor, fuel pump, windows and similar functions. You set 4PIN or 5PIN with the switch before testing.

Do I have to remove the relay from the car to test it?

Yes, you take the relay out of its holder and insert it into the tester's socket. The crocodile clips connect directly to the car battery (11–15 V).

What happens if I connect to the wrong terminal?

The clips are colour-coded and insulated for safety. Red clamp on the positive terminal and black on the negative. The red LED indicator confirms a correct connection before you can start the test.

What is the difference between the Standard and Upgraded models?

The Standard model gives full test functionality with an LED readout. The Upgraded model has a transparent plastic cover over the socket so you can visually follow the relay's mechanical movement during testing.

Does it work on older cars and European vehicles?

Yes, the unit is compatible with all vehicles that use a standard 12 V battery (11–15 V) and universal relays with 4 or 5 pins. That covers most European passenger cars from the 1990s onwards.
